Temporary, Permanent or Temp-to-Perm

FranklyLegal sources, screens and selects excellent legal professionals to meet your expectations.  For temporary and temp-to-perm solutions, we issue the paychecks, calculate and pay the tax withholdings, and are responsible for any unemployment or workers compensation claims filed by that employee.

Temporary Services 

These services, known as contract services, arise when placements are needed for long and short term assignments or projects.  Finally realizing that cost-saving benefits to law firms for contract services can be a very attractive option amid the ever-changing balance between what cost-saving clients demand and what profitability you must expect, today's legal and corporate cultures are shifting focus and temping is on the rise.  

With the increased use of temporary or contract legal staff, integration of these professionals into your office is more important than ever. This is especially true when using a large number of contract professionals for a particular project. Firms differ widely on their integration philosophies. Some firms host lunches or other team-building activities for contract attorneys and other legal professionals, while others are less hand-on, particularly if the contract professionals have significant, prior experience.

At a minimum, however, firms should provide some type of orientation covering everything the contract professionals need to do their job, set forth clear expectations, and give them direction as to where they can go with questions or concerns. Attractive bill rates will flow from these variable influences and control a range between as low as $15/hr to as high as $250/hr or more.

Permanent Services 

These services arise when: [1] an employee resigns or is terminated with or without cause; [2] when a decision is made to expand the existing workforce under that level; or [3] to develop a new line of business, practice area or division.

Client costs for these services vary according to the market and are often related to subjective influences like pedigree, skill set, and experience. 

Fees range from as low as 5% of an annualized salary for some entry level clerical and office positions to 25% or more for executive spots.

Temp-to-Perm Services

These services are on the rise in the legal community and can be mutually desireable.  Clients often find it more prudent to employ a candidate on a temporary basis for a specified or unspecified period.  This enables clients to test drive candidates in an effort to streamline efficiency and see of the candidate is the right match for their needs--say its culture, competencies and committments.  Candidates often find it an attractive alternative to jumping into a position only to discover that it may not have been the best choice.  But with this option, candidates can see if the match is right for them too!  They can test drive new opportunities and maybe even new career paths.

Client costs for these services are similar to temporary costs but are supported by discounted conversion rates and made more attractive because we provide better guarantees upon conversion.  We burden some of the risk should our newly converted candidate terminate his position within the first year after conversion.   Using a reverse matrix that factors temporary milestones against converted milestones, your fees are less for the replacement or second temp-to-perm candidate.
